Case study: regenerative farming and happy koalas
We’re excited to showcase one of our investment projects in South East Australia, through which we aim to contribute positively to the future of farmers, nature and climate. Thus we create positive financial and non-financial value.
As a result of many years of intensive farming, the soil in this region had become so impoverished, that it only seemed suitable for mining coal. Protests from local farmers and environmentalist however, lead to plans being revised for this area. This resulted in farmers getting the chance to revitalise their impoverished soil and making it biodiverse again. A desert is thus transformed into land with richer soil that can hold water and nutrients. Also, a koala corridor is created, that allows koalas to travel freely from one side of the property to the other, where a state forest is located.
