Objective
We aim to deliver long-term capital growth by investing in high-quality companies that are demonstrably committed to the transition to a sustainable economy.
Philosophy
In our view, the transition to a sustainable economy is a vital and powerful trend which is set to play out for decades to come and creates opportunities over the long term to invest in high-quality businesses aligned with delivering this transition.
Approach
In identifying these businesses, our experienced portfolio management team collectively own all aspects of investing throughout the lifecycle. This begins with a proprietary analysis of company fundamentals – including analysing how sustainable the business is – and continues through to portfolio construction and then active stewardship following investment.
The team follows a methodical, disciplined process designed to:
select high-quality companies which are demonstrably aligned with the transition to a sustainable economy, including regarding carbon-intensity metrics;
make investments in these companies at attractive valuation entry points; and
build a high-conviction, low-turnover, concentrated portfolio where positions are held for the long term and where the team is able to actively engage with portfolio company management teams over the lifetime of the investment.
We deliver this approach with a global or European focus.
