Stichting Pensioenfonds voor Personeelsdiensten selects Van Lanschot Kempen for a €400 million private real estate mandate
Amsterdam/’s-Hertogenbosch, 24 February 2025
Van Lanschot Kempen Investment Management will manage a private real estate mandate for Stichting Pensioenfonds voor Personeelsdiensten (StiPP) with an initial value of approximately €190 million. This amount is expected to increase significantly over the coming period to more than €400 million by the end of 2026.
StiPP administers the pensions for 1.5 million participants in the temporary and seconded workers sector. The pension scheme anticipates growth in the coming years due to the broadening and improvement of the premium scheme. To achieve this in a balanced manner, StiPP is opting to adjust its current real estate strategy, focusing on growth and diversification in sectors and geography. The fund has a strong ambition to align its real estate investments with its socially responsible investment policy (SRI policy). Various sustainable strategies, such as healthcare real estate, are seen as potentially interesting investments within the current mandate.
Lodewijk van Pol, executive director at StiPP: “After a careful process, StiPP chose Van Lanschot Kempen because of its competencies in private real estate and focus on cost control. Van Lanschot Kempen's experience in selecting the right managers aligns perfectly with our ambition to further develop our SRI policy. Their expertise helps us not only to achieve our sustainability goals but also to refine and strengthen our current real estate strategies in line with these goals. Additionally, we already have a good relationship with Van Lanschot Kempen as our fiduciary manager, and we are happy to build on that.”
Johan van Egmond, Executive Director Institutional Relations at Van Lanschot Kempen: “We are delighted that StiPP has chosen us as their partner for managing a private real estate mandate. We offer high-quality real estate advisory services in a cost-efficient manner, which not only aims for financial returns but also contributes to the social objectives—such as SDG 3 'good health and well-being'—of StiPP. A great outcome for the fund and its participants.”
