Van Lanschot Kempen scores highly for transparency

Van Lanschot Kempen ranks 6th (out of 491 companies assessed) on the Transparency Benchmark 2023 and 11th (out of 51 companies assessed) on the Tax Transparency Benchmark 2023.

The Transparancy Benchmark is a study on the content and quality of information on social aspects of business in the reporting of the largest companies operating in the Netherlands. To this end, the publicly available accounting information is assessed on 40 criteria relating to socially relevant aspects of companies and their business operations. The Transparency Benchmark comes from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and has existed since 2004. In recent years, Van Lanschot Kempen has always ranked within the top-20 of the Transparency Benchmark but never before has Van Lanschot Kempen scored as high as it did this year.

  • 2023: 6th position
  • 2021: 8th position
  • 2019: 10th position
  • 2017: 9th position

This is the final year of the Transparency Benchmark because from next year, new European legislation (ESRS) will replace the transparency benchmark function.

Tax Transparency Benchmark

The Tax Transparancy Benchmark examines the extent to which Dutch companies report transparently on taxes. The benchmark has since 2014 been conducted by VBDO (the Dutch Association of Investors for Sustainable Development). The higher score is mainly due to the Tax Transparency Report we published for the first time in 2022. In this report, we explain our position on taxes and provide an overview of taxes paid in that year. Also within the Tax Transparency Benchmark, Van Lanschot Kempen has not previously scored as high as this year.
