Nationaal Vrouwen Jeugdkoor wins Concertgebouw Young Talent Award
The Nationaal Vrouwen Jeugdkoor (National Women's Youth Choir) has won the Concertgebouw Young Talent Award 2023. The award, made possible by main sponsor Van Lanschot Kempen, will be presented at a gala dinner at The Royal Concertgebouw on 18 April 2023.
By presenting the Concertgebouw Young Talent Award, The Concertgebouw wishes to praise the choir for the tremendous contribution it has made for many years to training young vocal talent. At previous editions, the award was given to individual musicians, but for the Nationaal Vrouwen Jeugdkoor, The Concertgebouw makes an exception.

The Nationaal Vrouwen Jeugdkoor, part of Nationale Koren (National Choirs), was founded in 1996 and its members are young women aged 16 to 30 (average age 22).
Simon Reinink, general director of The Concertgebouw: 'Every performance of this choir confirms its exceptional quality. Under the inspiring leadership of Wilma ten Wolde, the Nationaal Vrouwen Jeugdkoor has grown into a national institution over the past twenty-five years. It is an indispensable breeding ground of vocal talent in the Netherlands.'
Maarten Edixhoven, chairman of the Executive Board of Van Lanschot Kempen: 'As main sponsor of The Concertgebouw, we are proud that this year the Nationaal Vrouwen Jeugdkoor has won the Young Talent Award. We hope this award will encourage female vocal talent to develop further and that the choir will delight many more listeners.'
Wilma ten Wolde, artistic director Nationaal Vrouwen Jeugdkoor: 'Singing together is universal. This award for our choir is a wonderful incentive to bring vocal talent to fruition for many years to come! And it is, of course, a wonderful compliment to all these young women!'
